Your Key to Cutting-Edge Funding Secrets Revealed
The Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) organized a briefing session on March 19th to explain the funding opportunities available for 2024. President Che Weng Keong chaired the session, attended by approximately 300 representatives from various sectors of Macao’s science and technology community, including universities, associations, and technology companies.
Since February 2023, the FDCT has been refining its funding programs to better support scientific research and innovation. This refinement has led to the introduction of two primary funding schemes: the “Funding Scheme for Enterprise Innovation and R&D” aimed at supporting businesses, and the “Funding Scheme for Scientific Research and Innovation” tailored for universities. These schemes aim to provide targeted support for both business R&D and academic research.
During the briefing, detailed explanations of these funding schemes were provided to help attendees understand their objectives, eligibility criteria, and application process. The session also included interactive discussions and Q&A sessions to gather feedback from participants and enhance their understanding of the FDCT’s funding programs.
Additionally, representatives from the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) were present to discuss anti-corruption measures related to project funding, emphasizing the importance of integrity in funded projects. Furthermore, participants were briefed on key research institutions in Hengqin to encourage collaboration between Macao and Hengqin.
The funding schemes for the current year will soon be open for applications, and interested parties are encouraged to apply through the FDCT’s online application system.
