Revolutionizing Bengal: Minister’s Bold Call to Transform Kolkata into India’s Next Silicon Valley!
The Minister for Information and Technology in West Bengal, Babul Supriyo, passionately appealed to individuals on Saturday to consider investing in Bengal and contribute to its journey towards becoming the “next IT hub of the country.”
Speaking at the 35th edition of the ‘Technology Sabha’ in Kolkata on Friday, Supriyo shared the ambitious vision of the West Bengal government, aiming to position Bengal as the premier IT destination in India. He warmly invited potential investors to explore opportunities in Bengal, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing necessary support for their ventures. Supriyo underscored Kolkata’s potential, contrasting it with oversaturated cities like Gurgaon, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, highlighting the abundance of skilled manpower in Kolkata and the state’s readiness to foster IT initiatives.
“In India, Bengalis have made significant strides in the IT sector. However, many talented individuals choose to seek opportunities abroad. We aim to change this narrative. Why shouldn’t Bengalis flourish in Kolkata and enjoy its unique offerings? To realize this vision, we encourage you to consider Kolkata as the next frontier for IT,” Supriyo emphasized, reaffirming the government’s dedication to creating an ecosystem conducive to IT growth in the state.
